CF10B Inverter Manual: What Changed Between the Supplied Editions?

Two CF10B documents were supplied: April 2020, Version 3.1, and July 2025, Version 3.2. They should be read as separate editions. Their differences show why a technical article needs dated citations rather than an unqualified list of family specifications.

July 2025, v3.2-20 to 55 degrees C-20 to 55 degrees C

Distinguish supply categories

The 2025 general table lists 120 V or 240 V rated input and separate operating ranges of 70-140 V or 160-264 V. Maximum-voltage entries are separate again. These fields describe different conditions and should not be presented as interchangeable nominal supplies. [Source 7, PDF p. 5.]

The same table lists 15.5 A input-rated current and 1,000 W input-rated power. Those figures are not a direct cooling-capacity promise or a universal output specification. The intended compressor and application still need approval.

An inconsistency in the older temperature text

The 2020 edition's specification table gives -20 to 55 degrees C, while the following caution text refers to -20 to 50 degrees C. The supplied 2025 edition's table and caution consistently use -20 to 55 degrees C. [Source 6, PDF pp. 5-6; Source 7, PDF pp. 5-6.]

Do not average those numbers or silently select the less restrictive one for an older installed assembly. Record the discrepancy and ask the manufacturer which document and limit govern the actual SKU. A later document is useful evidence, but it is not automatic approval to change an older application's operating conditions.

Forced ventilation remains an application condition

The 2025 table specifies 2 m/s minimum forced ventilation with the defined heatsink airflow location. Its caution also addresses the inverter's position relative to airflow. A cabinet fan's nameplate does not establish that condition at the electronics. [Source 7, PDF pp. 5-6.]

If the equipment trips on thermal protection, the service assessment should include load, airflow and placement. A board replacement alone cannot be assumed to correct an installation problem.

Build a version-aware order record

Keep the exact inverter label, compressor model, equipment model, supply configuration, control arrangement and document edition. Ask the supplier which CF10B assembly is actually being delivered and which installation instructions apply.

Do not infer interchangeability with CF10C, CF20A or VCC3 from power figures or similar connectors. A complete application match is required. Internal electrical work must follow the equipment's qualified service procedure, including precautions for retained energy; this article does not provide live-testing instructions.
