Reading the NEX Compressor Brochure Without Mixing Rating Conditions

The supplied NEX China brochure combines marketing comparisons with a model-level technical table. The table is more useful for a selection decision, provided its voltage, frequency, refrigerant and rating conditions stay attached to each value.

Keep the comparison footnote

The cover's percentage improvements refer to comparisons with other market models and internal testing. The brochure does not make those percentages a measured improvement for every cabinet or an assurance that replacing one compressor will produce the same result. [Source 13, PDF p. 1.]

When describing the brochure, attribute the comparison to its stated basis. Do not convert it into a store promise of a fixed energy saving, noise reduction or capacity increase.

The technical table contains different kinds of rows

The table includes NEX and NEU references, different supplies and both R290 and R404A entries. It should not be summarized as though every row were the same refrigerant or electrical application. Preserve the actual model and row conditions. [Source 13, PDF p. 2.]

For example, NEX2180UB is listed at 220-240 V, 50 Hz under ASHRAE LBP conditions, while NEX4170UA is a 115-127 V, 60 Hz row under ARI LBP conditions. Their capacity figures should not be used for a direct percentage comparison without establishing equivalent rating conditions.

A capacity figure is not a cabinet prediction

The table's watts describe performance at the stated rating point. The installed system's load, heat exchangers, controls and operating conditions still affect the result. The table also contains MBP entries, which should not be compared with an LBP row as though the application point were identical.

COP is a performance ratio at its specified conditions. It is not a percentage reduction in a customer's electricity bill. A valid comparison keeps the test basis and application envelope together.

Use the brochure to shortlist, then validate

Prepare a shortlist by refrigerant, supply/frequency and application range. Then obtain the current model datasheet, performance data, electrical-accessory requirements and equipment application approval. Preserve the brochure as an identified source rather than treating it as the final service instruction.

No R290 retrofit approval follows from this brochure. Natural-refrigerant descriptions do not establish compatibility with equipment designed for another refrigerant, and environmental claims should retain their original scope. The store's VCC3 inverter is also not established as compatible with these on-off compressor entries. A qualified application review must connect the actual compressor, electrical system and equipment before replacement.
