CF01F and CF02F Inverters: Read the Variant Before the Rating

CF01F and CF02F are inverter families, not single universal replacement boards. Embraco's August 2024, Version 03 manual organizes their electrical and operating data by variant and compressor application. The useful starting point is the complete label, followed by the matching specification and its notes.

Why one family-level number is insufficient

The nominal-input table distinguishes L, M, N and W configurations. Its 115-127 V and 220-240 V entries should be read with those configuration letters, rather than collapsed into a claim that every unit accepts both supplies. The same table gives a 150 W maximum-input-power entry for CF01F and a 230 W/240 W entry for CF02F; the latter should not be simplified into a single verified rating for an unidentified SKU. [Source 1, PDF p. 5.]

Input power is not the refrigerator's cooling capacity. It also is not a promise that the assembly can deliver its table maximum under every installation condition. The notes describe voltage, ambient-temperature and speed-related limitations. This is why the label, compressor data and application conditions belong in the same selection record. [Source 1, PDF pp. 5-7.]

Compressor speed limits belong to the compressor family

The manual lists separate electrical-frequency and motor-speed ranges for VES, FMX and FMS applications. A speed range copied from one row should not be assigned to another compressor merely because it uses a CF-family inverter. The notes explicitly direct readers to the compressor's own datasheet for its speed range. [Source 1, PDF pp. 5-6.]

This distinction matters when comparing two offers: an inverter label, a compressor's allowable operating range and a controller's requested speed are different pieces of information. A complete application review reconciles them instead of selecting the largest number.

Inrush is not running current

The manual treats input inrush separately from operating current and warns against excessive supply-reconnection events. It also describes sleep and standby behavior for different communication configurations. A design that turns off the supply whenever it wants the compressor stopped cannot be assumed equivalent to the specified control approach. [Source 1, PDF p. 6.]

That information belongs in an engineering review, not an owner experiment involving repeated power cycling. The applicable control configuration should be established before interpreting standby consumption or restart behavior.

A practical selection record

Keep the complete inverter SKU, numerical manufacturer code, compressor model, nominal supply, control configuration and intended thermal environment together. Add the exact manual edition and the source of the approved pairing. If one field is missing, obtain it from the equipment manufacturer or Embraco application support before selecting a replacement.

This article explains the supplied manual; it does not establish interchangeability with a VCC3 board or another CF generation. Internal work requires qualified electrical precautions. Use the original equipment's service procedure, including protection against retained electrical energy, rather than treating an unplugged inverter as safe to handle internally.
